Swarovski Crystal– Fairy-Tale that Became a Reality

There’s no doubt that the most amazing things are created by nature. But things created by people are often of the equal beauty. For example these are Swarovski crystals. Daniel Swarowski was born in 1862 in the North of Austro-Hungarian Empire in Bohemia Mountains – the land famous by well-known glass. His father had a small glass workshop where they created jewelry items and accessories.

Probably namely then looking at fragile glass pieces future master firstly dreamt about artificial stones of the same beauty as natural diamonds. Daniel studied physics and chemistry in Paris preparing himself for engineering. Later he created the first in the world electric polishing machine to deal with crystal and stones. Later he came back home to open his own workshop and produce there crystal looking as precious stones.

Swarowski had never hidden the fact of imitation thinking that external beauty is more important than a thing’s origin. They got a great numbers of orders. The manufacture developed and got its original name Swarovski. Daniel and his sons brought their craft to perfection. Paris and St.Petersburg fashion ladies whom he sent his jewels samples went into raptures.Swarowski crystals have come into fashion to never leave it. Later crystal bijouterie became the element of outfit of many famous singers, actors etc.

Channel, Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent Fashion Houses have used Swarovski crystals to decorate their evening gowns and make them special. In 1956 the company’s founder died but left flourishing business. Twenty years later the craftsman’s heirs opened new line called Silver Crystal. The first item was mouse, later they made other animals. Nowadays collectors buy up those crystal zoo representatives. As for collectors, they have a special club of Swarowski crystal lovers consisting of half of a million people all around the world. Today they create jewelry pieces, fashion accessories and objects for the house under the Swarowski brand.

There’s even Swarovski museum existed in Tyrol. There’s a glass tunnel under the ground and there are inscriptions engraved on the walls with the words of famous poets where they use the word “crystal”. Everything shines and sparkles there. They say that those who were at least once in the museum have an impression that they were in a fairy tale. And it’s not an occasion. Swarovski crystals spreading looks really as a star dust. Even greater than real diamonds.
